Sure to be a favorite bed time story! A fun, easy to read book, created from a poem I wrote about (funny) things that go bump in the night. Illustrating this one was so much fun. Our character Cielo settles in with her books, and toys, and crayons, and wild imagination before she turns out the light.

A collection of tongue twisters and silly poetry for the funny in all of us! Illustrated in various styles by me!
I wrote and illustrated this one along with “Sylvan’s Big Leap!” It’s quite different from Sylvan in that it is a collection of some my silly poetry culled from many I’ve written through the years.
Then I illustrated each poem…some longer than others, so there are more accompanying illustrations for some… or one could say less for others!

I’m currently actively working on 4 more poetry collection books; “ The Kitchen Witch “, ”Blow Your Horn”, ”Beautiful Dreamer”, and “A Dragon Smokey Blue” (poems are written, illustrations are being conjured.) The process is SO MUCH FUN! These will come out next year (2025)….if others don’t push their way to the front! (No kidding)

Why I create
I began my picture book writing and illustrating journey
when I was old enough to pick up a crayon.
But somewhere along the way, I lost my belief in the
magic of storytelling and I abandoned writing and illustrating
my little books in favor of other artistic pursuits.
I kept my stories to myself.
But, my characters with their poems and tales insisted
upon coming to life and I came to realize that the stories
about these amazing folks that "arrive" is important to share.
I hope the voices of all these magical individuals
that are so excited to show up,
inspire my readers to live their magic out loud.
My Hope
I am passionate about reaching readers that need a voice.
And encouraging communication and celebration with what we all may struggle to express or understand.
We need to keep talking, sharing, learning, and loving.
A great story book can start a conversation.
My process
I write "children's" literature that focuses on celebrating individuality and the fun that ensues when unique characters come together.
I see so many stories in the oddest of places and people. I love to "people-watch" and wonder about them and where they came from and where they're going. I have vivid dreams, I have characters (including humans, animals, trees and other creatures) that "show up" and want to tell me how they feel and what they experience.
I enjoy using different writing and illustration techniques to tell these stories as I explore the intricacies of how to tell them.
I want to create books that address fear, divergence, and acceptance with humor and colorful characters that foster curiosity, confidence, trust, unity, respect, and joy.
